We have been working with care home staff (managers, activity coordinators, trainers, and carers) to co-produce resources that they can use to provide supportive care that is inclusive of sexuality.
Our set of resources is not publically available yet, but it will be soon. Get in touch if you want to learn more about it.
Our current project aims to dig a little deeper and identify the specific barriers and facilitators that staff face around older adults’ sexuality and relationships in care homes. Having a deeper understanding of these issues will help us to implement the Sexual Rights Charter in everyday practice, to benefit staff, residents, and families.
